As a financial adviser and a investment adviser, I first recommend to double-check if you are ready to be an investor.

Before investing, I recommend you have a fully funded emergency account (3 to 6 months of expenses) saved in a savings account or in a money market account. Also I recommend being debt free, other than your house mortgage. Believe me this is SUPER important.

Once you are on financially solid ground, then I recommend good quality funds with good quality fund familes (Franklin Templeton, Invesco, American Century, American Funds, etc.) Keep in mind only 20% of your success will come from picking the right fund with the right fund family, a lot of them are very comparable. 80% of your success will come from your "behavior". For example how will you react to negative market news? How would you control your emotional impulses, etc? A good adviser will help you stay focused and of course is a vital part of both the 20% fund picking, but most importantly the 80% behavior part. If the market goes into a deep "dip", how will you react? Will you panic? Who will you talk to? Who will convince you to keep investing and use the benefit of dollar-cost-averaging to your advantage?

I would suggest having good team of advisers on your side throughout your life. A good CPA for taxes and accounting, a lawyer for legal questions about anything, and a very good investment adviser to help you invest with confidence.

Let me know if this helps or if you have anymore questions.

No, it is far from over. There are no instant fixes! There are going to be a lot of business' going to the wall over the next 6 - 12 months. A lot more people are going to be out of work.
References :
I love it! Every day is different, money is good. Fun to help people. I don't do outside sales, they come to me so I don't have to deal with that aspect. About 50% don't close since they don't qualify. You will take 8 hours every year of continuing ed.. finger print & background check required, must have good credit, & you will have to renew your license every year as well as have a surety bond each year.
References :
27 years mortgage lender.

Not by a long way. It should take until mid 2010 for Gordon Browns good time guys to completely screw Britain up. Write it on the wall mid 2010. I saw the 87 crash coming and this one - believe me 2010 will be so bad Gordo will wish he had become a bacon packer when he left school.
References :
Life - especially the Maggie years!

This is the begining of the worst
Give it a few more months or an year and there will be no such things as cars, electricity, hardly anything available at the supermarkets, people will be growing there own vegtables, walking everywhere, no holidays, living in the dark with candles
Oh yeah it will be great
References :
I have seen this in an office. frustration is common. you work on largely on commission. 1/2 of these loans never went through. lots of paperwork and time wasted. if you are not a patient person, forget it.
